Soul Silver's Unown

Hello again. This time I'm gonna talk about capturing all Unown in Soul Silver. Why write about this? There are a lot of guides about this, aren't there? Well, maybe it's just me but there are only bits and piece of information so I tempted to make a clear one. (Yes, it's kinda late to do this... <w< But I only started to play my SS about 2 weeks ago.) By the way, Heart Gold might have the same setup, so you might be able to use this for HG, but I can't assure you it will work. Let us start.

There are 8 puzzles in Ruins of Alph. 4 unlocks the alphabet Unown, another 4 unlocks the punctuation Unown after you manage to catch all the alphabet Unown and get all the reports from a researcher there. The 4 which unlock the alphabet Unown are picture puzzles. Each puzzle unlocks a group of alphabet Unown. The other 4 which unlock the punctuation Unown are word puzzle. You are required to bring... (Spoilers! \(0w0)/ Not really...) ...a pokemon, 2 items, and a move to open chambers hidden by those puzzles.

There are 4 chambers in Ruins of Alph for these 8 puzzles, each contains a picture puzzle and a word puzzle. 2 of these chambers can be visited from the inside of Ruins of Alph while the other 2 can only be visited by traversing Union Cave.

Now all you have to do are these:

  1. Complete all 4 picture puzzles - These will unlock all the alphabet Unown so you can catch them in the chamber underground.
  2. Complete all 4 word puzzles - These will help you in unlocking the punctuation Unown. Note that while doing this, you need to go to the hole. Yes, you need to fall down into the hole in each hidden chamber so you can see the writings. (I only took the items and complete the picture puzzles so the punctuation Unown didn't appear... <w< ) This is proved a bit "troublesome" because you need to traverse Union Cave 4 times in order to complete the puzzles. (All those wild encounters...) Well, stock up some Max Repel if you want.
  3. Capture all the alphabet Unown - This will take some time. You know the drill, throw those Pokeballs!
  4. Go and get the reports from the researcher - I don't need to point out the researcher, right? There are only 3 people inside the house... Once the researcher said that "there are actually other Unown other than the alphabet Unown" then you can...
  5. ...Capture the punctuation Unown - Go to the main chamber where the stair to go down is, you will trigger a small event. Now go to the researcher for a bit of texts and now you can find the punctuation Unown in the main chamber before you go down the stair.
I hope that's quite clear step to get all the Unown. d(0w0 )

A bit of trivia, do you know that the name "Ruins of Alph" is actually referring to the Unown? Or more to be specific, the alphabet Unown. 0w<

I hope you manage to get all the Unown. ( ^w^)b

Around the blog

Here we will talk about my blog. So, what is my blog all about?

Judging from the short description of the blog, the answer is... random. Means that I'll write anything here. So you may expect a little of my daily life, a little of outdated news (yes, remember? I'm quite an outdated person), a little of trivial things, a little facts and fictions... well, whatever! <w<"

That's the content... About the language for writing. I think I will mostly write in English, since that may improve my English. But I also may write in Indonesian (well, I'm Indonesian >wo ), or maybe a bit of both.

This looks so short. What else I can write? ow0

Ah, how about this then. Why I picked "Arth's Little Grimoire" for the title. Well, my screen name is Arth and I like magic. ^w^

. . . Well, maybe that doesn't really explain why there is 'grimoire' in it... <w<" What I mean by "I like magic" is this. There are many explanations, but grimoire, in short is a spell book. Grimoire is a book with many symbols and incantations as a content that are believed to be instruction to do magics and rituals. (Well, it's not like I'm gonna summon a devil or angel here, but that sounds like a good idea :p ) And it sounds cool, no?

There is a history behind the word 'grimoire' but I don't think people like History... (You sure about that? >w> ) (Well, I'm not sure... Meh, fine <w<" ) Alright, so 'grimoire' is originated from the word 'grammar' or maybe more specific, the French form of 'grammar' which is 'grammaire'. You can see that they end up with 'ire'. Oh yeah, you read 'grimoire' not as 'grimoir', but 'grimwar'.

Hmm, that's all for now I guess. See you later then! (owo)/

The Beginning

Well, here I am, writing a blog. It has been quite a long time since I last post something on a blog. The first and the last blog I have ever posted in it is my Academic English course's blog. It's long been left out, though.

Let's start with a little introduction. I'm Hartanto N. Cendana. Just your normal person around the net. I might be quite an "eccentric" person after you know me for a while. I'm not a really good writer though. Sometimes my choice of words is a bit, "crude", so to say. (Well, I'm quite a crude person anyway)

So, why am I writing my own blog? First reason is, I don't know much about the "World of Blogging" and I would like to try to live in that for a while. This might be able to improve my writing skills.
Second reason is, sometimes I experienced or learned something interesting and sometimes want to tell it to others. But well, usually I'm quite an outdated person, so people might already know about it. So wynaut (I mean why not) write it here?

There might be more but heck, why do you need a reason to write a blog anyway? (0wo)

I think I can save the writing about the blog itself for the next one, so...

...bye for now! (owo)/

(I just hope I don't forget about this, I'm a forgetful person...)
